1) Coach the whole person – physical, mental, and emotional

• Talent can only be maximized when players are taught the skills required to execute at a high level. This requires simple, clear, and memorable instruction accompanied by situational explanations describing the “why” behind the coaching. Repetition then leads to improvement.
• The game of softball is a complex, strategic game that requires quick decision making and thinking ahead. Understanding different situations in a game can only come from experience watching, playing, and practicing along with an explanation of why each play happened as it did.
• Emotional resilience and support have a large impact on performance on and off the field now and in the future. Softball provides seemingly endless opportunities to experience varying emotions – the joy of winning, the disappointment of losing, the thrill of competing head-to-head, and the trust of being a part of a team to name a few. We provide a supportive environment to foster good sportsmanship and respect for self, teammates, coaches, and opponents.

2) Being a part of a team is a gift.

• A softball team is a group of people with a shared interest (or several) working toward a common goal. Our team will support one another on and off the field. We will lift each other up and help everyone succeed individually and as a team. And we will never lose sight of the fact that success feels a lot better when you are having fun with the people around you.

3) Love the game.

• Softball is a beautiful sport that requires both skill and intelligence. There are so many different ways to play. Our team will share our joy and passion for the game with one another. It is a sport everyone can play long into their life providing enjoyment for decades.
• We will respect the game and those who played before us and those that will play after us. We will hustle on and off the field. We will uphold the rules of the game. We will find ways to improve when we lose. We will celebrate together when we win, and we will do it respectfully.
